Friends of Las Vegas National Wildlife Refuge

Calendar of Events

Late summer through early winter is a busy season for the Friends of Las vegas NWR.

Every second Saturday (Aug 12, Sep 9, and tentatively Oct 14) we have a guided hike at Rio Mora NWR.

Visit our table at Peoples' Faire on Saturday, August 26 at Carnegie Park.

Our annual Concert for the Birds will be held on Sunday, September 24, at Las Vegas NWR.

Sundays in November are the Fall Flight Festival at Las Vegas NWR, celebrating the migration of waterfowl down the flyway east of the mountains. It's the only time of year when visitors can drive along the 4 1/2 mile back road to see sandhill cranes, snow geese, ducks of every variety, coots, grebes, mergansers, and eagles lurking nearby hoping for lunch.
We will show our support for wildlife and our local National Wildlife Refuges by entering a float in the Las Vegas Electric Light Parade in early December.
Details about these activities are shown in the events calendar below.
